Becoming an Official

7 Dec 2021 by Keshvar Seale

Officials are an integral part of any Little Athletics competition (from our Club carnivals to State Championships) and with a full program of Championship events coming up in 2022 there’s a need to fill our ranks.

Becoming an official is easy. Widely accessible (the Level 0 and 1 courses are online modules) it affords parents and former athletes (minimum age 16) the opportunity to acquire the knowledge to officiate athletics competitions while developing new skills.

To learn more about becoming an official, head to the LANSW website: https://lansw.com.au/officials-education-scheme/

If you’ve completed a course and want to gain some practical experience at Zone, Region or State Championships (this doubles as your parent duty), please let a Committee member know. If you have any questions about becoming an official, we have a number within the NSLAC community across all disciplines so please ask for an introduction.
